An infrared sauna emits wavelengths that heat the body directly. Because the rays are absorbed directly into the body, one can achieve a healthy sweat in less intense temperatures than a traditional sauna. An infrared sauna is typically set between 110 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Most people enjoy the sauna for 30-35 minute sessions.

Health Benefits:
Overall Health - Our bodies absorb infrared rays from the sun which is necessary for health and well being. If we don't get enough sun, a sauna is a good alternative.
Stress Reduction and Relaxation - Having a sauna before a massage helps you relax and loosens and softens muscle tissue which will increase the effectiveness of the massage.
Pain Relief - Heat penetrates 2-3" below the surface of the skin in the sauna to bring relief to muscle and joint pains. Increased circulation promotes faster healing.
Detoxification - An increase in sweating causes extra toxic waste products to be purged from the body through the skin.
Immune Boost - A sauna session may abort a cold or flu and may also shorten the recovery time of a virus.
